About Capital City Improv Comedy
In 2011, Capital City Improv was "The Dennis Price Comedy Hour" at the Emporium in Readfield, Maine. These early shows were a combination of improv, music, and trivia.
As the audiences grew, we quickly needed to find a new home! We changed some things around, asked some friends to join us and we became Capital City Improv. Using audience suggestions and interviews, Capital City Improv creates unique, on-the-spot comedy shows that live for one night only! You can see us around Maine or in Augusta! The Governor Hill Mansion is now our home base. While this beautiful venue is our home, we want to continue bringing our style of improvisation all over. If you want Capital City Improv to spice up your party, function, gathering, or celebration, contact us here! Dennis Price, founder of Capital City Improv, studied and performed improvisation in Chicago with The Second City and IO Theater (formerly ImprovOlympic). While performing with IO house team Honeyslide, Dennis watched and worked with some of the best improvisers in Chicago. Since coming to Maine in 1998, Dennis has worked as an actor, performer, improviser, teacher, and director. He worked with the Theater at Monmouth for 12 years, and he was also seen at the Penobscot Theater in Bangor and The Public Theater in Lewiston. During the summer, he performs with ImprovAcadia in Bar Harbor. After ten years of classroom teaching and instruction, Dennis has stepped out of the classroom and has partnered with Penobscot Theatre Company, Johnson Hall, and more to bring improv and comedy to even more of Maine. |
